Our Vision
Breaking the cycle with work and spiritual discipleship.
The Program
Casa Jana is a non-profit organization that provides an eight-month program aiming to rehabilitate and equip women caught in the cycle of drug abuse. This program brings a specific set of women through a food service training (via the Casa Jana restaurant) and extensive discipleship program. Once they have completed the program, they will receive a diploma and be prepared to flourish in the real world. The women we are targeting are coming out of isolated rehab programs within the area of Ensenada Baja California, therefore this experience of restaurant and discipleship will transform their lives and equip them for the future.
Our mission is to:
Design a program that will equip affected women with practical food service training and employ them at the Casa Jana restaurant.
Create a discipleship program that will help them reach their maximum potential to re integrate into society as good citizens and a testimony of God’s transforming power.
We believe that providing temporary work and spiritual discipleship will reduce the probabilities of reentering the vicious cycle of drug abuse.
Why “Jana?”
In the book of 1st Samuel we see the story of a woman named Hannah. She had a strong desire to have a child but was unable for many years. She at many points in her life pleaded with God that he give her a child. In chapter two we read about the prayer that she prayed to God. She was filled with faith and hope in God who would fulfill this desire. The name “Jana” in the Hebrew means “hope” which is a word full of the opportunity for a second chance and a change of life. We desire that the foundation be a place of hope for these women who have found nothing but despair in their lives. That is why it is called “Casa Jana” or “House of Hope.”
For Who
Casa Jana collaborates with multiple women’s rehab centers in the city of Ensenada. Through these partnerships we will select a specific group of women to participate in the program with the objective of breaking the vicious cycle of drug addiction and abuse in their lives. The stability of the program will provide an atmosphere where these women can gain back their confidence through practical career skills via the Casa Jana restaurant and spiritual discipleship.
